Industrial disease

Industrial disease– a chronic or acute illness of the insured person, resulting from exposure to harmful (hazardous) industrial (manufacturing) the factor (s) and the resulting temporary or permanent occupational disability.


An acute Industrial disease (poisoning) is understood disease, which is usually the result of one-time (for a maximum of one working day, one shift) the impact on the employee harmful factors (factors) that caused the temporary or permanent loss of employability.
By chronic Industrial disease (poisoning) is understood disease that is the result of prolonged exposure to the employee of harmful factor (s) that caused the temporary or permanent loss of employability.
Thus, the associated occupational disease by the insured in an insurance case, which involves creation of obligations of the insurer to carry out maintenance on the insurance, with two types of the disease: 1) occurs suddenly and is acute, 2) appearing periodically, after a certain period of work in the form of chronic pathology, emerging slowly, depending on the duration and impact of the measures on the body of harmful pathogenic factor.
The emergence of both acute and chronic occupational disease is possible only if the working conditions that are characterized by the presence in the workplace occupational hazards above hygienic standards and have an adverse impact on the health of the employee (the insured).
Clarification of the term “occupational hazards” – is: production factor whose impact on the employee may cause disease.
Not all harmful factors can cause an occupational disease, and only those that are characterized by a certain level of concentration of hazardous substances in the workplace, the intensity and duration of its impact on the working conditions of production.
Ascertaining information about occupational hazards and conclusions with respect to their ability to single or long-term exposure to cause an occupational disease must be in accordance with the provisions of the Manual of hygienic evaluation factors of the working environment and working process.
The fact of disability due to an accident or occupational disease is established and confirmed by the medical organization.
